Executive Chairman

Frank Baylis is the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at Baylis Medical Technologies. Mr. Baylis has over three decades of experience in the medical technology sector, and for over two decades, he served as president of Baylis Medical Company. During this time, his leadership and vision helped build a small start-up into a global leader, ultimately leading to Baylis Medical Company’s acquisition by Boston Scientific in 2021 for $1.75 billion USD. 

In addition to his time at Baylis Medical Company, Mr. Baylis served as a Liberal Member of Parliament for Pierrefonds-Dollard from 2015 to 2019. In this role, Mr. Baylis contributed to many committees, co-founded the Black Caucus, and started initiatives to create equal opportunities for all Canadians. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Baylis has been an entrepreneur across multiple industries; in 2004, he launched the charity “For The Children” that was subsequently rolled into Gloria Baylis Foundation, honoring his mother, the founder of Baylis Medical in 1986. 

Mr. Baylis holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and while attending, he met his future business partner, Kris Shah, and together they founded Baylis Medical Technologies.
