John Hanley is the Vice President of Global Commercialization at Baylis Medical Technologies, bringing over 30 years of experience in the medical technology industry, including six years with the company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University, an Advanced Business Strategy Certificate from Harvard University, and a Successfully Managing People Certificate from York University’s Schulich School of Business. During his time at Baylis, John has led initiatives that have driven sales growth and successfully introduced multiple new products to the market. Before joining Baylis, John held senior leadership roles across the medical technology sector, where he led high-performing regional and national teams. Beyond his professional role, John is a dedicated supporter of healthcare initiatives in his community, raising significant funds for organizations such as SickKids, Oakville Hospital, and the Canadian Eye Foundation through marathons, triathlons, and cycling events.

Allyia Mahmood is the Director of Human Resources at Baylis Medical Technologies, bringing over 20 years of HR experience across diverse industries, including medical devices, automotive, energy management, and urban planning. She has been with the company for nearly eight years and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. Allyia led the development and implementation of Baylis Medical’s compensation philosophy, ensuring transparency, alignment with business goals, and a strong foundation for employee engagement and retention. Additionally, she played a key role in workforce strategy during COVID-19, prioritizing employee well-being and business continuity.

Varun Chandan brings over 15 years of experience in the medical industry, including more than two years with Baylis Medical Technologies as Vice President of Operations. He holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. After taking over Operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, Varun successfully managed critical operational functions, optimizing production, logistics, and supply chain management. His efforts significantly improved customer delivery timelines and ensured business continuity during an unprecedented period of operational challenges.

Nir Lifshitz is the Vice President of Intellectual Property and Legal Affairs at Baylis Medical Technologies, with over 23 years of experience in the medical industry, including 20 years with the company and its predecessor. He holds a degree in Engineering Science, specializing in biomedical and electrical engineering, from the University of Toronto, and is a registered patent agent in both Canada and the United States, as well as a Certified Licensing Professional. Throughout his career, Nir helped build a significant IP portfolio for Baylis Medical Company and looks forward to continuing this work at Baylis MedTech alongside his dedicated team. He has also contributed to major transactions with key partners, including Kimberly-Clark, Medtronic, and Boston Scientific.

He is also an inventor on more than 70 patents and serves on the boards of several organizations, where he supports long-term strategy, innovation leadership, and governance.

Stephanie Gallone is the Director of Quality, Regulatory & Scientific Affairs at Baylis Medical Technologies, with over a decade of experience in the industry, including three years at BMT. Stephanie takes pride in leading cross-functional teams to bring innovative medical technologies to market, improving patient outcomes across diverse populations. Whether shaping regulatory pathways, integrating quality and scientific affairs, or building high-performing teams, Stephanie’s greatest achievement is translating complex challenges into real-world healthcare solutions. Stephanie joins Baylis with a degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Guelph University and a Clinical Research certification from Humber.

Ryan Perillo has been with the company for over a decade, first as a consultant in 2014 and later joining full-time in 2018. He has played a key role in the company’s financial strategy as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. Specifically, throughout 2021, when he was deeply involved in all aspects of the sales process of Baylis Medical Company’s Cardiology division to Boston Scientific, leading to BMC’s successful disposition in February 2022. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University, is a CFA Charterholder and is a CPA, CA.

He initially served as an external tax consultant for Baylis Medical Company from 2009 to 2018 before joining the company as Director of Tax and Treasury. Siva played a key role in tax planning for the sale of BMC’s Cardiology division to Boston Scientific in 2021 and has extensive knowledge of Canadian and international tax regulations.
